"Heavy Lifting" tasks:

 

        Disabled Community Advocate(s)
Outreach and coordination with efforts in disabled communities to obtain private, accessible, and secure voting systems

        Newsletter Editor
Publish newsletters by gathering and editing items from staff and volunteers, previous editing experience preferred along with ability to work effectively in a team environment

        Web Programmer(s)
Programming (especially php) on website, including web portal to network trusted state reps nationwide, supervised by Webmaster and ED

        Policy Researcher(s)
Investigate policies, laws, and regulations related to voting systems, write reports, and make recommendations

        Technology Researcher(s)
Investigate different types of voting machines, write reports, and make recommendations

        Development Associate / Grant Writer
Assist with fundraising activities, previous fundraising experience preferred

        Administrative Assistance
Help with correspondence, taking meeting notes, ordering supplies, etc., preferably located in San Francisco

        Lobbyist(s)
VerifiedVoting.org lobbyists provide information and present the organization's position on legislation and other issues to local, state, and/or federal legislators and regulatory officials, prior lobbying experience or willingness to participate in lobby training required

        Regional Volunteer Coordinator(s)
Organizes volunteers in region, including meetings, volunteer assignments, status reporting, relationship with Nationwide Coordinator

        E-Voting Standards Expert
Participate in organizations developing standards for electronic voting machines, requires understanding of e-voting technology, academic or industry credentials, and excellent writing and negotiating skills

        Regional Event Coordinator(s)
Organizes events in region, including locating venues, in-kind donations of refreshments, publicity, etc.

        Graphic Artist
Prepare art for website, brochures, etc., experience with Photoshop or Gimp, Flash, etc, preferred

 

Tasks you can do in under 10 hours per week:

Respond to action alerts * Sign on resolution endorsers * Circulate petitions * Visit local election officials * Become a poll watcher * Attend local volunteer meetings * Attend other local meetings * Data entry of contact information from hardcopy petitions * Manage email lists
